Nonprofit research organization METR conducted an eleven-week audit of Anthropic’s internal research data and found that the pace of the company’s AI model development roughly doubled. According to The Decoder, about 80 percent of this acceleration was attributed to AI-assisted research processes.
The Decoder also reported that Anthropic may have crossed its own AI acceleration warning threshold as early as July, signaling a significant increase in the speed of their AI advancements. This threshold is part of Anthropic’s internal monitoring to manage rapid AI progress responsibly.
For Japanese investors and markets, understanding the swift pace of AI development at companies like Anthropic is crucial, as it could influence both technology sector valuations and the adoption of AI tools within Japan’s growing digital economy.
