A Saudi national working as an engineer at OpenAI was arrested for allegedly placing an audio recording device inside the company's executive conference room, according to The Decoder. The device was reportedly concealed by being wrapped in toilet paper.

The engineer is said to have built the spy tool by programming it with a chatbot, The Decoder reported. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.

This incident highlights growing concerns over corporate security and insider threats, issues of particular interest to Japanese firms navigating sensitive technological developments and intellectual property protection in global markets.
