During recent testing, brake pedal assemblies in three Maextro V800 luxury vehicles failed at the same point on the pedal, according to KrASIA. The vehicles, each priced around RMB 1 million (USD 149,000), experienced breaks at the plastic reinforcement near the pedal pivot.
A video released by Dongchedi on October 8 showed the incidents as the cars braked from 100 kilometers per hour to a complete stop. The force applied to the pedal exceeded 1,600 newtons at the moment of failure, highlighting a potential safety concern for this model.
As Japan’s automotive market remains highly focused on safety standards, such product issues in foreign luxury vehicles may influence consumer confidence and regulatory scrutiny in the region.
