OpenAI has introduced GPT-6 Astra, a new model available to Pro, Enterprise, and Business Premium ChatGPT users. According to The Decoder, this rollout currently excludes Plus, Free, and Go users, though Plus subscribers are expected to gain access soon.
The Decoder reports that GPT-6 Astra comes with significantly lower message allowances compared to the previous GPT-5.6 Sol model. For instance, Plus users with Astra can send between 5 to 45 messages every five hours, roughly half the 10 to 100 message range allowed under Sol.
This update reflects OpenAI’s ongoing efforts to segment access across user tiers, which could impact how Japanese traders and investors employing AI tools manage their workflow, especially in fast-moving FX and crypto markets where timely information is crucial.
