PwC Middle East has come under scrutiny after The Decoder reported that several of its published reports contained AI-generated content with fabricated sources and false claims. Using GPTZero, The Decoder identified four reports with misleading information, raising concerns over the accuracy and reliability of the data presented.
One governance report was found to be 84 percent AI-generated and included unverified customer references while promoting a PwC product. This revelation highlights the risks of unchecked AI content in professional services, especially in regions where trust in data integrity is crucial.
As Japan’s financial markets increasingly adopt AI tools for analysis and reporting, this incident serves as a cautionary example of the importance of verifying AI-generated content to avoid misinformation that could impact investment decisions and market confidence.
