Block has introduced Dessa, a new artificial intelligence speech model designed to analyze human speech and detect emotions, sarcasm, and pauses in real time. According to The Decoder, Dessa processes audio directly, offering nuanced understanding beyond simple transcription.
The Decoder also reported that Dessa currently runs locally on a MacBook Pro M4 Max, but it is not yet available to the public. This development marks a step forward in AI's ability to interpret vocal cues, which could enhance customer interactions across Block's ecosystem.
