Hong Kong's initial public offering (IPO) market is projected to reach unprecedented levels in the first nine months of 2026, despite signs of slowing momentum. According to KrASIA, the city is expected to host approximately 116 new listings during this period, representing a 76% increase compared to the same timeframe in 2025.
The anticipated proceeds from these IPOs are estimated at HKD 387.9 billion (USD 49.5 billion), more than doubling the amount raised in the first nine months of the previous year, KrASIA reported. Much of this activity is driven by Chinese companies seeking to tap Hong Kong's capital markets.
For Japanese investors, this surge highlights Hong Kong's continuing role as a major financial hub in Asia, offering significant opportunities amid evolving regional market dynamics.
